3 - BISMARCK SQUARE

“On the other side” - connected to the old town of Regensburg via the stone bridge, is the cozy district of Stadtamhof.

It is definitely worth a detour just because of the colorful houses lined up one after the other. Since 2006, Stadtamhof, together with Regensburg's old town, has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

5 - GOLDEN TOWER

Its name “Golden Tower” is derived from a restaurant located in the 17th century. One of the rich patrician families had the tower built in 1260.
With nine floors and a height of 50 meters, it is the highest residential tower north of the Alps.

The higher the tower, the higher the family's reputation back then. Since the renovation in 1985, the building has offered a total of 43 residential places for students.
